DFA Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Meets Royal Thai Delegation to Discuss Protection of Nationals and Modernization of Consular Services

PASAY 04 September 2023 – The Royal Thai Delegation headed by Thai Ambassador Tull Traisorat paid a courtesy call on Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Jesus “Gary” S. Domingo to share best practices on consular matters, discuss their respective procedures to providing assistance to distressed nationals abroad, and exchange information on efforts to prevent trafficking in persons.

The Thai delegation also shared their experience in implementing improvements on their e-Visa and e-Passport services. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue cooperation in the areas of security, consular matters, and people-to-people exchanges in preparation for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2024.

The Thai Delegation included Deputy Director General Naruchai Ninnad of the Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Pol. Col. Surapong Chatsut of the Royal Thai Police. Joining the Undersecretary were Office of Civilian Security (OCS) Assistant Secretary Alan L. Deniega, OCS Director Ana Marie C. Santos, Office of Consular Affairs Assistant Director Von Ryan G. Pangwi, and OUCSCA Special Assistant Erika Henri Laudencia. END
