DFALF and IBF Strengthen Commitment to Education in Renewed Partnership with AMA Foundation

MANILA 11 October 2023 – The DFA Ladies Foundation, Inc. (DFALF) and International Bazaar Foundation, Inc. (IBF), chaired by Mme. Pamela Louise Manalo, proudly announced the renewal of their partnership with AMA Foundation, Inc. This significant milestone was marked by a Memorandum of Agreement signing held at the Raffles Salon, Raffles Hotel Makati, on 6 October 2023.

The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of Chairperson Amable R. Aguiluz V, Special Envoy to Japan for Trade and Investments, alongside DFALF and IBF Chairperson Pamela Louise Manalo.

For years, DFALF and IBF have stood as stalwart partners in the realm of education, endeavoring to provide responsive educational opportunities tailored to the needs of today's learners. Through this renewed Agreement, both foundations reaffirm their dedication to nurturing future leaders by granting twelve (12) scholarship slots each for AMA Educational System Campuses, St. Augustine School of Nursing, AMA Graduate Programs, and AMA Online Education.

DFALF and IBF Chairperson Pamela Louise Manalo conveyed her appreciation to Special Envoy Aguiluz and the AMA Foundation, Inc.  for the commitment and support they have given to the scholarship program of DFALF and IBF since 1999.

Chairperson Manalo said, “In these challenging times, the support extended by the AMA Foundation shines as a beacon of hope, guiding us as we collectively navigate these uncharted, post-pandemic waters. DFALF and the IBF stand united with AMA Foundation to ensure the continuity of our children’s education, regardless of the prevailing circumstances, for many more years to come.”

Chairperson Manalo, together with the Board of Trustees from the DFALF and IBF, presented a certificate and plaque of appreciation to Special Envoy Amable R. Aguiluz V and AMA Foundation, Inc. to convey the Foundations’ gratitude to AMA’s continuing support in its endeavors.

The significance of this partnership was underscored by a heartfelt testimonial delivered by Mr. Mark Dave Dumaguit, a DFALF scholar currently enrolled in AMA Computer College - Makati. His story exemplifies the transformative power of education, made possible through initiatives like these scholarships.

The signing event was attended by distinguished members, including IBF President Betty L. Ang and Treasurer Alice T. Guerrero, DFALF President Mary Jennifer D. Dingal, First Vice President and Chair of the Scholarship Committee Candy S. Cypres-Bauzon, and Corporate Secretary April R. Casquejo. The presence of the Special Envoy's secretariat team and DFA – Office of the Secretary Special Projects Unit secretariat added to the significance of the occasion.

The scholarship program, a flagship initiative of both foundations, continues to be a beacon of hope for deserving children of DFALF members. Rigorous admission processes and annual evaluations ensure that these grants are bestowed upon the most dedicated and deserving students. END
