Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs Welcomes Dutch Foreign Minister’s Visit to Manila on 30 October 2023

MANILA 27 October 2023 – The Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines welcomes the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Her Excellency Hanke Bruins Slot, on 30 October 2023.

During this visit, Foreign Minister Bruins Slot will meet with Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo to discuss Philippines-Netherlands bilateral relations and exchange views on regional matters of mutual concern.

Foreign Minister Bruins Slot’s arrival will mark the first time that a Dutch Foreign Minister has visited the Philippines in more than three decades. This milestone comes as the two countries celebrate the 72nd anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year.

The Philippines and the Netherlands enjoy long-standing relations across different sectors, with consular connections predating even the Philippine Republic when the first Dutch consulate was established in Manila in 1886. END
