OTLA Conducts Seminar Workshop on Treaties for DFA, Partner Agencies

MANILA 13 November 2023 – The Office of Treaties and Legal Affairs (OTLA) conducted a seminar-workshop on Treaties: Philippine laws and State Practice on 08 and 09 November 2023 in Manila, which was participated in by officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs and 36 Philippine government agencies.

Participants, whose offices’ functions include the negotiation and conclusion of international agreements, were apprised of current treaties procedures and negotiating practices pursuant to relevant international and domestic laws, regulations and jurisprudence. The event culminated with workshops on treaty interpretation and negotiations.

A key feature of OTLA’s regular program for capacity-building, the seminar-workshop seeks to develop professional competence and expertise on treaty-making process and negotiations among Philippine government officials. END.
