Mutual Consular Concerns Discussed during DFA Undersecretary De Vega's Visit to Guangzhou and Macau

GUANGZHOU 21 December 2023 – In his meeting with Chinese authorities this week, DFA Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega discussed the productive bilateral collaboration that continues on very important consular areas of mutual concern such as addressing trafficking in persons and illegal workers, as well as the fight against illicit drugs. 

Undersecretary de Vega also met with Filipino community groups in both cities to brief them about the DFA’s assistance-to-nationals work and assured them of the government’s continued support for their welfare. He also conveyed to them the Chinese authorities’ deep appreciation for the positive contributions of the thousands of Filipinos in China to that country’s economic development. END
