Announcement on the Technical Examination Stage of the Competitive Entrance Examination/Assessment for Foreign Service Staff Officer IV and Foreign Service Staff Employee III Positions

PASAY 22 December 2023 – The Human Resources Management Office (HRMO) wishes to announce that the Technical Examination stage of the Competitive Entrance Examination/Assessment for Foreign Service Staff Officer IV and Foreign Service Staff Employee III positions will be held at the Bulwagang Apolinario Mabini (BAM) (Ground Floor, DFA Main Building, 2330 Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City), on Tuesday, 23 January 2024.

The Technical Examination aims to test the applicant’s written communication skills and general appreciation of the scope of the work of the Department of Foreign Affairs, as well as assess his/her thought processes/perspectives vis-à-vis certain situations that may be faced in the course of one’s work in the Department. It will be composed of four (4) subjects with the corresponding weights:

1. DFA and the application of the three (3) pillars of Philippine foreign policy (30%);

2. Philippine Economic, Political, and Cultural Conditions (20%);

3. International Affairs (20%); and

4. Situational questions to measure the applicant’s organizational and/or managerial skills (30%).
