DFA-OVS, COMELEC Prepare for Implementation of Internet Voting for 2025 National Elections Overseas

PASAY CITY 31 January 2024 –The Department of Foreign Affairs' Overseas Voting Secretariat (DFA-OVS) headed by Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Jesus S. Domingo and the Commission on Elections' Office for Overseas Voting (COMELEC-OFOV) headed by Commissioner Marlon S. Casquejo had a meeting on 26 January 2024 to discuss the preparations for the implementation of internet voting as one of the modes of voting for the 2025 National Elections overseas.
Undersecretary Domingo emphasized the importance of a strategic information campaign and reiterated the DFA-OVS' commitment to assist the COMELEC-OFOV in this regard.
Both the DFA-OVS and COMELEC-OFOV are set to collaborate on the conduct of training programs, consultations, and pther activities to capacitate and prepare Foreign Service Posts, and Filipino communities abroad, for the implementation of internet voting in 2025
The Overseas Voting Registration for the 2025 National and Local Elections began last 09 December 2022 and will end on 30 September 2024. END
