Chinese Apostille Now Accepted in PH and Vice Versa

PASAY 02 February 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of Consular Affairs met with representatives from the Chinese Embassy led by Mr. Wang Minhao, Head of the Consular Section, who presented China’s specimen Apostille on 31 January 2024 at the OCA Conference Room in DFA Aseana.
The Apostille Convention officially came into force in mainland China on 07 November 2023. The Philippine Apostille is now acceptable in China without the need to undergo legalization and the Chinese Apostille should likewise be acceptable in the Philippines without undergoing legalization from the Philippine Embassies and Consulates General in China.
Also present during the meeting was First Secretary Gu Yingying, Consular Assistant Shi Ruru, and representatives from the DFA OCA Authentication Division. END
