Philippines Foreign Affairs Secretary Welcomes Swiss Foreign Minister’s Visit to Manila on 08 February 2024

06 February 2024 – The Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines welcomes the upcoming visit of His Excellency Ignazio Cassis, Federal Councillor for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Minister of the Swiss Confederation, to the Philippines on 08 February 2024. Secretary Enrique A. Manalo and Foreign Minister Cassis will meet to discuss PH-CH bilateral relations and exchange views on multilateral, regional and global issues of mutual concern. During his one-day visit to Manila, the Swiss Foreign Minister will also call on other high-level officials of the Philippine government. 

Foreign Minister Cassis’ trip to Manila will mark the first time since 2008 that a Swiss Foreign Minister is visiting the country. The Philippines and Switzerland have been enjoying warm and friendly bilateral relations for the past 67 years. More than 15,000 Filipinos reside in Switzerland, which include professionals in the IT, engineering, medical and allied health sectors. END
