DFA Wins Ugnayan Award from DBM Procurement Service
PASAY 06 March 2024 - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) won the Ugnayan Award from the Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) during its commemorative event, “ONE in Procurement and Service 2024: Transformative Public Service in the Digital Age”, on 29 February 2024 in the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC). Undersecretary Antonio A. Morales, Head of the Procuring Entity and Acting Secretary for Foreign Affairs, received the award on behalf of the DFA.
The milestone event of PS-DBM recognized the decades-long commitment of national government agencies to accountable, transparent, and efficient procurement. DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman in her keynote address underscored “sa Bagong Pilipinas, mas palalakasin at pagbubutihin ang procurement system ng bansa”.
Among the many accolades during the event, the Ugnayan Award was conferred to government agencies which cultivated substantial partnership with PS-DBM through training sessions, warehouse tours, virtual meetings, in-person seminars, and other relative engagements.
DFA successfully conducted an agency-wide training to prepare for the implementation of the Modernized Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (mPhilGEPS)—the first of its kind. Through its BAC Secretariat, DFA coordinated for the improved implementation of Virtual Store and mPhilGEPS.
DFA’s efforts support the vision of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.’s to digitize government operations and improve government procurement. Smoother procurement processes through digitalization translate to improved delivery of government services. END
