DFA-OCA Meets with Notarial College in Spain on Implementation of the Apostille Convention

VALENCIA 07 March 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of Consular Affairs met with Mr. José Carmelo Llopis Benlloch, first censor of the Board of Directors of the Notarial College of Valencia in Valencia, Spain on 05 March 2024. The Notarial College is one of the Competent Authorities in Spain, specifically for the Apostille of notarial documents. 

The Notarial College of Valencia represents the notaries of the Valencian Community and is considered the oldest regional notarial college in Spain.

The meeting was part of the study visit conducted by OCA to learn more about the best practices of Spain’s Competent Authorities on the implementation of the Apostille Convention. 

The Philippine delegation was composed of Authentication Director Dyan Kristine B. Miranda-Pastrana, Mr. Mark Michael Vincent Marbella, Administrative Officer and Ms. Clarissa Villamor, Verification Officer of the DFA OCA Authentication Division. Also, present during the meeting were Atty. Manuel Carrión Sánchez, Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Valencia and Vice Consul Lee Gano of the Philippine Consulate General in Barcelona. END
