PH-Thailand Relations Emphasized in FSI’s Ambassadors’ Lecture Series
Thai Ambassador Tull Traisorat is the latest lecturer for FSI’s Ambassadors’ Lecture Series.
PASAY 02 April 2024 – The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) hosted another edition of its Ambassadors’ Lecture Series on 22 March 2024, emphasizing the seventy-five-year relationship between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Thailand. The lecture, entitled “Celebrating 75 Years of Close and Cordial Relations Between Thailand and the Philippines: Sharing with Each Other and Thriving Together,” was delivered by Thai Ambassador Tull Traisorat.
In his lecture, Ambassador Traisorat discussed a comprehensive history of Philippines-Thailand relations; an overview of the current collaborations between the two countries; and identified possible partnerships that the two countries may pursue. He noted that Thailand could support the Philippines in becoming the gateway to Maritime ASEAN.
The tight-knit relationship between the Philippines and Thailand over the past seventy-five years paved the way for its recent initiative, the “two-country, one-destination” concept where the two countries will twin their tourism sites as one travel destination for tourists. This is expected to further realize the economic potential of the two countries on the tourism front.
The Ambassadors’ Lecture Series (ALS) is a platform provided by FSI to the heads of diplomatic missions in the Philippines to share their knowledge, expertise, and advocacies. END
Personnel of the Foreign Service Institute, Department of Foreign Affairs, members of the diplomatic corps, academe, and media attended the event.
