DFA-OIER, BOI Host Investment Promotion Webinar for Foreign Service Posts

MANILA 15 April 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs - Office of International Economic Relations (OIER) partnered with the Board of Investments (BOI) to conduct a webinar on 8 April 2024 in order to upgrade the skill set of 126 Economic Officers and Honorary Consuls from 82 Foreign Service Posts for advancing the country’s investment promotion efforts.

Speakers from the BOI led the briefing, covering topics such as the current Philippine investment landscape, industry development & promotion, as well as investment regulatory frameworks. Executive Director Evariste M. Cagatan of the Investment Promotion Services (IPS) underscored key reforms, emphasizing the nation’s competitive advantage as a global investment destination. Executive Director Ma. Corazon Halili-Dichosa of the Industry Development Services (IDS) offered valuable insights into sectoral promotion. Atty. Bobby G. Fondevilla of the Investment Assistant Center (IAC) highlighted investment facilitation initiatives, such as E.O No. 18, known as the Green Lane for Strategic Investments. END
