Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis to Visit the Philippines from 23 to 25 April 2024
MANILA 22 April 2024 – Lithuania’s Foreign Minister H.E. Gabrielius Landsbergis will visit the Philippines on 23 to 25 April 2024. Foreign Minister Landsbergis’ arrival will mark the first time that a Lithuanian Foreign Minister is undertaking an official visit to the Philippines in the two countries’ three-decade long diplomatic relations. It is also the first high-level visit to the Philippines since Lithuanian Prime Minister Adolfas Slezevicius visited the country, almost 30 years ago, in 1995.
To promote closer bilateral relations between the Philippines and Lithuania, the Foreign Minister’s meeting with Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo will focus on enhancing cooperation in various areas such as trade and investments, clean energy, science and technology including health and laser technology, and people-to-people links.
The Foreign Ministers will also discuss regional and international issues of mutual concern. The exchange of perspectives and insights underscores the shared commitment of the Philippines and Lithuania to peace, stability, and the rules-based international order. END
