U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN Highlights Maritime Issues, Regional Cooperation during Visit to Manila

PASAY 29 April 2024 - Maritime cooperation featured prominently during discussions between Philippine Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro and Jakarta-based Ambassador of the United States (U.S.) to ASEAN H.E. Yohannes Abraham, during the latter’s working visit to Manila.
Aside from shared maritime priorities in ASEAN, the officials also touched on cooperation on matters under ASEAN-U.S. relations, notably on emerging technology.
Coming on the heels of the recently concluded 11th Philippines-U.S. Bilateral Strategic Dialogue (BSD) on 22-23 April 2024 in Washington, D.C., the meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to reaffirm the robust bilateral partnership and cooperation. END
