BANGKOK 15 May 2024 – As part of the celebration of Filipino Food Month, the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines is proud to announce its celebration of Filipino Food Month with a series of exciting activities aimed at promoting the rich and diverse flavors of Filipino cuisine to both local and expatriate communities in Thailand.

As part of our commitment to showcasing the culinary treasures of the Philippines, the Embassy is thrilled to share the following highlights: 

1. Exclusive Interview and Article: Ambassador Millicent Cruz Paredes had the pleasure of being interviewed by Ms. Kathleen Pokrud, Foreign Affairs Advisor (Honorary) at Elite+ Magazine. This interview served as a platform to delve into the essence of Filipino cuisine and its cultural significance.

In the interview, Ambassador Paredes discusses the intricate tapestry of culinary traditions that make up Filipino cuisine, drawing influences from indigenous, Malay, Spanish, Chinese, and American cultures. Thammasat University Students Visit Kalamansi Kafe for a Filipino Gastronomic Feast: On Saturday, 27 April 2024, students from Thammasat University embarked on a flavorful gustatory journey at Kalamansi Kafe in Bangkok. This immersive experience allowed them to savor authentic Filipino dishes while learning about the cultural heritage behind each culinary masterpiece. Through this visit, students gained a deeper appreciation for Filipino cuisine and its role in shaping the nation’s identity.
