MANILA 21 May 2024 – As part of the Department’s commitment to implement the DFA GAD Agenda for CYs 2023-2028, the Human Resources Management Office, through the GAD Secretariat, successfully conducted a two-day Training on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) Tool for Major Program Handlers/Implementers on 14 and 16 May 2024 at the CMOAS Conference Room, 2nd Floor, DFA Main Building.
Representatives from the Office of the Undersecretary for Migration Affairs (OUMA) and the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) participated in the training. Their involvement is crucial for ensuring gender-responsive development and the effective implementation of flagship and high-budget programs of the Department such as Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) and Consular Services (e.g., passporting and authentication services).
Aligned with the mandate of Republic Act No. 9710, or the Magna Carta of Women, the training equipped the Department’s major program handlers/implementers with proficiency in the essential elements of HGDG tool and its application. Participants also gained in-depth knowledge on implementing gender-responsive strategies effectively, contributing to the optimal utilization of the Department’s GAD budget. END
