DFA Hosts “Bon Voyage,” the Send-off Concert of the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra

MANILA 04 July 2024 - The Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo and Madame Pamela Louise Manalo, through the Office of Cultural Diplomacy (DFA-OCD), hosted the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) for a send-off concert titled “Bon Voyage” on 27 June 2024, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Bulwagang Apolinario Mabini (BAM), DFA Building. The concert was held a day before the 40-member orchestra of young talented musicians flew to Budapest for a European Tour including stops in Salzburg, Bratislava, Vienna, and Prague. In Vienna, the MSJO will compete in the prestigious Summa cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Austria which they won first prize back in 2018.

Among the audience, to send farewells and well-wishes, were the Diplomatic corps, officials from the local government of Pasay and from various government agencies, representatives from cultural agencies and the music industry, friends and family of the MSJO, and the members of the board of the Manila Symphony Orchestra Foundation.


The performance of the MSJO is a testament to the world-class talent, discipline, and dedication to the arts of the Filipino youth. The Department of Foreign Affairs is proud to send-off the MSJO to represent the Philippines on the international stage. END
