Passport on Wheels Conducted in Batanes

The DFA conducting Passport on Wheels (POW) at the Batanes Provincial Capitol

BASCO 11 July 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) extended its passport services to the island province of Batanes during its Passport on Wheels (POW) mission at the Batanes Provincial Capitol, Basco on 19-20 June 2024.

The POW was organized by the DFA Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) in partnership with the Office of the Governor of Batanes, Hon. Marilou Horlina-Cayco. The event welcomed 400 passport applications that were processed by a 10-person contingent of DFA-OCA.

The said activity coincided with the celebration of the 241st founding anniversary of the Province of Batanes, in which the DFA participated in the “one-stop processing” of various government frontline services.

The DFA previously conducted a POW mission in Batanes in October 2023 to engage the residents of Batanes. The POW attests to the DFA’s ongoing commitment to bring consular services closer to the public and expand its reach throughout the country.
