Scholarship Grants Awarded by DFALF and IBF to Deserving Students

DFALF and IBF Chairperson Madame Pamela Louise Manalo delivers her remarks

MANILA 29 July 2024 – On 12 July 2024, the DFA Ladies Foundation (DFALF) and the International Bazaar Foundation (IBF) held a joint awarding ceremony of scholarship grants to its newly selected scholars at the DFA Carlos P. Romulo Library. 

Thirteen (13) scholars from DFALF and twenty-one (21) scholars from IBF received their scholarship grants from Chairperson Madame Pamela Louise Manalo, DFALF President Celia Anna Feria, and IBF President Betty Ang. Honorable Chief Coordinator Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez together with the members of the Board of Trustees of DFALF and IBF and the parents of the scholars were also in attendance.

The thirty-four (34) scholars went through a meticulous screening process to ensure that the most deserving students will receive this year’s scholarship grants. In her welcome remarks, DFALF and IBF Chairperson Madame Manalo said, “Please keep in mind that a scholarship is a vote of confidence in your abilities and future success. I urge you to continue your journey of academic excellence, become good citizens, and help create a better society for all of us.”

Delivering testimonials during the event were former DFALF scholar, Mr. Kristofferson Silva, who is currently serving as an Attaché at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, and former IBF scholar, Ms. Cristina Mae Laguna, who recently passed the nursing licensure exam. They shared their experiences and successes resulting from their hard work and dedication and encouraged the new batch of scholars to use this opportunity as a step forward towards reaching their dreams. The scholarship program of DFALF and IBF is an annual flagship project carried out as part of the foundations’ commitment to foster a more compassionate, family-oriented, and socially responsible Department of Foreign Affairs.
