The Star for All Seasons - Ms. Vilma Santos-Recto - Graces FSI’s Cultural Wednesdays
MANILA 06 August 2024 – The Star for All Seasons, Ms. Vilma Santos-Recto, took the spotlight at the Foreign Service Institute’s Cultural Wednesdays on 31 July 2024 at the Carlos P. Romulo Library.
Before an SRO crowd, Ms. Vilma Santos-Recto shared her expansive experience in the Philippine Film Industry as one of its outstanding pillars. The discussion revolved around her contributions to the industry and how she evolved as an artist, making her the most awarded actress in Philippine Cinema.
In her discussion, she highlighted the importance of hard work, smart work, and the grace of God in performing efficiently and effectively while being passionate in any given role or task.
In addition to her experience in cinema, she shared highlights of her public service as Mayor of Lipa, Governor of Batangas province, and representative of Batangas in the House of Representatives. As a member of the House of Representatives, she was honored to have been appointed to chair one of its Committees even as a neophyte legislator.
During the Q&A, she graciously shared how she prepares for her roles as an actress and her views on how the value of Filipino films and Filipino content could be further promoted in the global landscape.
