FSI Visits DFA Consular Offices for Immersion Program

MANILA 12 August 2024 – The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) visited the six Consular Offices (CO) of the Department of Foreign Affairs participating in the Consular Immersion Program of the Foreign Service Officers’ Cadetship Course - Batch XXX.
Sixteen Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Cadets are currently deployed in CO assignments in Baguio, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, and Pampanga for a three-week Consular Immersion Program. FSI officials met with the Head of COs and their respective assigned training teams for the immersion program from 29 July to 2 August 2024. These visits were intended to monitor the progress of participants in meeting the performance indicators set for this Program.
The Consular Immersion Program is intended to develop the participants’ competencies in leadership, passport processing, authentication services, and Assistance-to-Nationals services. To date, the participants have met with local government officials and officials of DFA partner agencies, in addition to their performance of consular services at the COs.
