Antique 07 October 2024 – In celebration of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANAMo) 2024  with the theme, “Pamana ng Karagatan: Para sa Kinabukasan, Ating Ingatan”, Consular Office Antique successfully conducted its coastal clean-up initiative to raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution on marine life and ecosystems.

The Coastal Clean-Up Drive was held at  Brgy Funda, Hamtic, Antique on 28 September 2024, led by Acting Head of Consular Office, Ms. Mydee D. Homena together with CO Antique personnel. The activity was actively participated by Barangay Captain of Funda, Hamtic, Antique, Hon. Gloria Sarah Jane Moreno, and the Barangay Officials and with the cooperation of the volunteer residents of the said barangay.  Furthermore, the event was a success, not only in terms of the amount of trash collected but also in terms of the sense of community and shared responsibility it fostered.

CO highlighting this community-oriented initiative will positively reflect on our Department and encourage others to participate in similar environmental efforts. END
