Foreign Service Institute Conducts Training and Research Outreach in CO Angeles

ANGELES 13 November 2024 - The Foreign Service Institute (FSI), through its Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy (CPRSD), continues its mandate to provide training for DFA Personnel through its Training and Research Outreach (TRO) Program. The latest TRO was conducted for the DFA Consular Office (CO) in Angeles, Pampanga on 5 November 2024.

The FSI training team shared their expertise on Basic Written Communication and Maximizing Social Media for Information Dissemination with 18 personnel from CO Angeles, along with staff from CO Zambales and CO Balanga.

CPRSD Director Evelyn O. Katigbak discussed the fundamentals for effective written communication where she emphasized the “rule of clarity.” Further, she highlighted how learning the basics of well-written correspondence and reports is crucial in their roles as public servants.

For Maximizing Social Media for Information Dissemination, CPRSD’s Core Programs Section Training Officer Arielle Faith R. Villareal shared how CO Personnel can improve the reach of the Department’s social media posts by engaging with announcements that are important to the CO.

At the end of each session, mini workshop activities were conducted for the participants to put their learnings into application.

The TRO Program is designed to respond to the training requests of consular offices. This aims to provide fundamental knowledge and understanding on various topics deemed significant and relevant in the wide-ranging consular work of CO personnel. END
