FSI Conducts Training and Research Outreach in CO Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA 22 November 2024 - As part of its initiatives to respond to the training needs of the Consular Offices (CO) of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) conducted a two-day training for personnel of CO Zamboanga on the subjects of Office Decorum, Basic Written Communication, Events Management, and Maximizing Social Media for Information Dissemination. The training sessions, implemented under FSI’s Training and Research Outreach (TRO) Program, were delivered from 12 to 13 November 2024 at the CO premises.

Ms. Rhoda R. Acosta, Chief Scholarship Affairs Officer, highlighted the importance of office decorum in the workplace to promote a culture of professionalism, mutual respect, and productivity. She further shared basic principles of written communication and the importance of using gender-fair language.

Ms. Justine Joyce T. Estolano, External Relations Officer, shared some tools and best practices to help CO personnel be more confident in leading and managing events. She likewise discussed the importance of using social media for information dissemination.

After its launch last 17 October 2024, the TRO Program has now reached the Consular Offices in Iloilo; Angeles, Pampanga; Dumaguete; and Zamboanga City. Training sessions are scheduled in the next few days to be delivered by FSI in the Consular Offices of Dasmarinas, Cavite and Cebu City. END

CO personnel actively participate during the workshop and group activities.
