DFA Brings Protocol Training to Western Visayas

ILOILO CITY 03 December 2024 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), led by Assistant Secretary and Chief of Protocol Ariel Rodelas Peñaranda, conducted a one-day training on protocol and social graces at the Regional Development Council (RDC) Conference Hall, NEDA Regional Office VI, in Iloilo City. The program aimed to enhance the readiness of officials in the region for international engagements and foster stronger ties with global partners.
Hosted by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region VI-Western Visayas, the training convened 84 participants from various member agencies of the Regional Development Council Region VI. Joining Assistant Secretary Peñaranda were Acting Director O’myr Faisal Mustafa C. Abdalla and Protocol Officers Paulo S. Enriquez and Jaimes Reymark Salinel, who guided participants through the fundamentals of diplomatic and ceremonial protocols. The team was warmly received by NEDA Region VI Officer-in-Charge Ms. Joyalita B. Tigres and her colleagues, who emphasized the value of such training for the region's development initiatives. They were also welcomed by Ms. Ma. Luisa Segovia, the Co-Chairperson of the Infrastructure Development Committee and Vice President of the Iloilo Business Club, Inc.
During their visit, Assistant Secretary Peñaranda and the training team also had the privilege of paying a courtesy call on Iloilo Governor Arthur R. Defensor Jr. They expressed their readiness to support the province's efforts in matters of protocol, reaffirming the DFA's commitment to fostering collaboration with local governments in promoting international engagement.
