FSI Conducts Training and Research Outreach in DFA CO San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte

SAN NICOLAS 06 January 2025 – On 10 December 2024, the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) conducted a Training and Research Outreach (TRO) Program at the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, with 24 participants in attendance. The program featured lectures by FSI resource persons Ma. Yvette Vanessa L. Broca and Andrea Kristine G. Molina.
Ms. Broca delivered a lecture on Office Decorum and emphasized the importance of maintaining professionalism, adhering to ethical standards, fostering a respectful workplace environment, and upholding the integrity of the DFA as a public institution.
Ms. Molina presented on Effective Communication in the Digital Era: Maximizing Social Media for Information Dissemination and offered practical strategies for using digital platforms to strengthen public engagement. She stressed the need for clear, empathic, and timely communication to build trust and transparency with the public while presenting innovative methods to enhance consular outreach and responsiveness.
The TRO Program is an ongoing initiative of FSI aimed at responding to training requests from DFA consular offices outside Metro Manila. Previous sessions have been conducted in various locations, including Iloilo City; Angeles, Pampanga; Dumaguete; Zamboanga City; Dasmariñas, Cavite; and Cebu City, in line with FSI’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of consular staff nationwide.
