External Affairs Minister of State of India Meets with Secretary Manalo During Visit in Manila

MANILA 17 JANUARY 2025 – Minister of State Pabitra Margherita of India’s Ministry of External Affairs called on Secretary Enrique A. Manalo during a brief stop in Manila on 14 January 2025. The visit is a continuation of a series of regular high-level meetings and visits between the Philippine and Indian foreign ministries.
During the meeting, Secretary Manalo and Minister Margherita highlighted the two countries’ increasing multifaceted bilateral relations spanning cooperation in defense, education, space, tourism, financial technology, trade and investment, arts and culture, among others.
The two sides also recognized intersecting interests in peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, and stressed the importance of continued multilateral cooperation in ASEAN and the United Nations on issues of mutual concern.
The Philippines and India are commemorating this year the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. END
