FSI Language Learning Facility Resumes Services
MANILA 20 January 2024 – The Language Learning Facility (LLF) of the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) officially resumed its services on 14 January 2025. The facility is open Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM and is located at the temporary site of FSI on the second floor of the Double Dragon Tower, DD Meridian Park corner Macapagal Avenue, EDSA Extension, Pasay City.
The Language Programs Section (LPS) of the Carlos P. Romulo School of Diplomacy (CPRSD) facilitates the Institute’s Language Self-Study Program (LSSP), designed to provide personnel with basic survival language skills, equivalent to 30 training hours. The facility currently offers 25 foreign languages, including six newly developed coursewares (Arabic, French, German, Mandarin, Nihongo, and Spanish) delivered through a Learning Management System. This is part of FSI’s mandate to support personnel of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and partner agencies deployed to non-English speaking countries.
The facility is equipped with 11 soundproof booths, all furnished with a laptop, a second screen, and noise-canceling headphones for learners to use. A dedicated lounge area is also available, where learners can enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments.
The LLF welcomes interested foreign language learners from national government agencies which deploy personnel overseas to any of the Philippine foreign service posts. Spouses and immediate family members of the personnel due for overseas assignment are likewise welcome to avail of the LLF services.
