QUEZON CITY 21 January 2025 - The Department of Foreign Affairs – Overseas Voting Secretariat (DFA-OVS), the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), representatives from different government agencies such as the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), non-government organizations, media, and stakeholders participated in ABS-CBN’s “Halalan 2025 Covenant Signing with Election Partners” held at the Studio 10 of the ABS-CBN compound on 15 January 2025.

“We really need a whole of nation approach, rather a whole world approach, because the Philippine nation is not just within the 7,000-plus islands, but we have our Kababayans, Overseas Filipinos that we have to remind and make sure that our registered voters participate in the electoral exercise through the global reach of ABS-CBN platforms like ANC and TFC.” Undersecretary and Chairperson of DFA-OVS Jesus S. Domingo said in an interview.

The Covenant Signing highlighted the collaboration between government agencies, civil society groups, and media organizations to ensure free, fair, and peaceful elections here in the Philippines and overseas. The partnership is expected to contribute to precise reporting, transparency, and adequate voter education to combat fake news or misinformation with the intent to preserve and safeguard the sanctity of the ballot and the democratic exercise.
