SFA Manalo Receives Omani Undersecretary for Political Affairs
MANILA 24 January 2025 — Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo received Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al Harthy, Undersecretary for Political Affairs at the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman, for a courtesy call on 21 January 2025. Undersecretary Al Harthy is in Manila to lead the Omani delegation to the 5th Philippines-Oman Joint Bilateral Consultation Meeting.
During the courtesy call, Secretary Manalo expressed gratitude for the enduring friendship between the Philippines and Oman, and optimism that the recently concluded political consultations will serve as a catalyst for productive cooperation in various areas of mutual interest. Undersecretary Al Harthy likewise acknowledged opportunities to further strengthen the cordial ties between the two countries.
Discussions also centered on the expansion of bilateral cooperation in other areas such as Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Science and Technology, and maritime cooperation, as well as the activities to mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Philippines-Oman diplomatic relations which will be celebrated in October.
