DFA Conducts Protocol Training for DBM Personnel in Preparation for 2025 Open Government Partnership Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting
MANILA 30 January 2025 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) conducted a one-day training on diplomatic protocol and liaison officer training on 23 January 2025 at the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Central Office, General Solano Street, San Miguel, Manila. This training was aimed at equipping 61 DBM personnel, including those from regional offices who joined online, with the necessary skills in preparation for their role as Liaison Officers at the upcoming 2025 Open Government Partnership (OGP) Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting, scheduled for 05-07 February 2025.
The training, hosted by DBM, was conducted by a team from the DFA Office of Protocol, including Acting Director Christian Andrei C. Aguilar, Acting Director O’myr Faisal Mustafa C. Abdalla, Assistant Director Irineo Fidel Z. Cornista Jr., Protocol Officer Ms. Trisha Erin L. Estaris and Assistant Ms. Nova L. De Lara. The trainers guided participants through the fundamentals of diplomatic and ceremonial protocols, offering practical insights on effective liaison officer duties to ensure smooth operations during the international event.
The training team made a courtesy call on DBM Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, where they expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate with the DBM. The team also reaffirmed the DFA’s commitment to supporting DBM’s efforts in matters of protocol and emphasized the importance of such training in fostering stronger international engagement.
