DFA Undersecretary Lazaro Meets with ASEAN Friendship Group of Slovenian Parliamentary

DFA Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro meets with Mr. Miroslav Gregorič, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia and Head of the ASEAN Parliamentary Friendship Group

LJUBLJANA 10 FEBRUARY 2025 – Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro met with Member of the National Assembly of Slovenia and Head of the ASEAN Parliamentary Friendship Group Hon. Miroslav Gregorič on 06 February 2025 to discuss strengthening bilateral relations.

MP Gregorič was also accompanied by selected members of the Slovenian Parliament during the meeting, which took place during Undersecretary Lazaro's visit to Ljubljana for the inaugural Philippines-Slovenia Political Consultations. It was noted that the recent establishment of the Slovenian Embassy has boosted bilateral relations between the two countries.

Undersecretary Lazaro encouraged the Slovenian side to explore the creation of Parliamentary Friendship Groups with their counterparts in the Philippine Congress. Both sides agreed that Parliamentary Friendship Groups are an important platform to pursue cooperation in various areas.

Undersecretary Lazaro and MP Gregorič also discussed potential areas of collaboration, with a focus on possible cooperation on nuclear energy technology. END
