MANILA 11 February 2025 – The Department of Foreign Affairs witnessed the turn-over ceremony of the in-kind donations by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) for the Jordanian Air Bridge Campaign of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza at the NDRRCM Operations Center in Quezon City on 07 February 2025.

NDRRMC Undersecretary Ariel Nepumuceno turned over the donations to the Jordanian Honorary Consul to the Philippines Michael A. Ang, whose office will facilitate the transfer of the humanitarian goods to Jordan. The NDRRCM generously pledged 34 balikbayan boxes containing gloves, bonnets and blankets, all bound for Amman, Jordan. They will become part of the first Philippine humanitarian aid to Gaza via the Jordanian Air Bridge Campaign, aimed at easing the troubles of Palestinian refugees especially this winter season.

In his message of support by DFA-Office of the Middle East and African Affairs (OMEAA) Assistant Director Jomar Sadie, he expressed profound gratitude to the NDRRMC for its valuable contributions to PH’s humanitarian efforts, and for standing in as the first government office to respond the call for donations for the Jordanian Air Bridge Campaign.

The Department hopes that more PH government agencies will participate in the Jordanian Air Bridge campaign’s next round of deliveries to Gaza in the near future. END
