MANILA 14 February 2025 – The DFA Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) opened its permanent Consular Office (CO) on 10 February 2025, at the Filinvest Mall, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
Gracing the occasion at CO NCR South were Muntinlupa Mayor Rozzano Rufino B. Biazon, Ambassador Joseph M. Yap, OCA Assistant Secretary Adelio Angelito S. Cruz, and Filinvest Land, Inc. President and CEO Mr. Tristan M. Las Marias.
Also joining were OCA Consular Offices Coordinating Division (COCD) Director Conrado B. Demdem Jr., OCA Authentication Division Director Manuel C. Ayap, and Head of Consular Office NCR South Manuel S. Moran Jr.
The establishment of the CO at the Festival Mall ensures a more efficient and convenient delivery of passports and other consular services to the public.
In his keynote address, DFA-OCA Assistant Secretary Adelio Angelito S. Cruz maintained that “as the mini-OCA Aseana and DFA outpost” in the area, CO NCR South will “continue providing top-notch consular services that cover first time passport applications, passport renewals, authentication, and Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN).” Referring to ATN services, he encouraged those with “relatives abroad who are in need of any form of assistance” to “come over to CO NCR South.”
The first passport applicant was a 67-year-old man, who applied for his very first Philippine passport. He said he decided to finally obtain one, as it was the longtime wish of his child for him to visit their family in California, USA.
Following the inauguration of CO NCR South, 169 clients were accommodated for passport applications and another 30 for Apostille services.
CO NCR South is open to the public Mondays to Fridays, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. END
