DFA Office of Consular Affairs Opens Saturday Operations in Celebration of National Women’s Month

MANILA 13 March 2025 — The DFA Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) opened its consular services on a Saturday, 08 March 2025, in celebration of International Women’s Day and the opening of the 2025 National Women’s Month with the theme “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”, at the OCA Lobby.
During the first Saturday operation for the month, around 1,300 female applicants were processed for passport, and 400 for authentication. While the Saturday operations were primarily offered to female applicants, DFA-OCA also accommodated Senior Citizens, PWDs, children, and 500 male applicants.
The event was led by Assistant Secretary Mendoza-Oblena. In her welcome remarks, she reiterated that the celebration of National Women’s Month, “is not just a time for us to reflect on the extraordinary contributions of women throughout history, but also an opportunity to acknowledge our ongoing journey toward gender equality, empowerment, and inclusivity.”
DFA-OCA and Consular Offices across the country will open again on the 22nd of March to offer consular services for all women, as the Department partakes in celebrating the remarkable achievements of women in every sector. END
