DFALF, HRMO Partner for Nutrition and Hormonal Health Seminar

Dr. Aika highlights the importance of nutrition to hormone health during a DFALF and HRMO collaboration seminar

MANILA 11 April 2025 — In celebration of the National Women’s Month, the Department of Foreign Affairs Ladies Foundation, Inc. (DFALF) and the Human Resources Management Office (HRMO) of the Department of Foreign Affairs collaborated on a health talk entitled “Nutritional Guide to Healthy Hormones: A Health and Wellness Seminar” with the aim of promoting nutritional awareness especially to the working age group on 28 March 2025.

HRMO Assistant Secretary Christopher B. Montero shared in his remarks that “prevention of chronic lifestyle diseases avoids strain on the health budget of both the Department and the personnel. It also helps the DFA personnel to lead their best possible life, in all stages of their adult life.”

Dr. Nicole Ann “Aika” Buenavista, a Lifestyle, Aesthetic and Occupational Health Physician, made a presentation to more than 120 onsite and online participants how diet and habits affects hormonal health, and highlighted ways to ensure optimum nutrition in every meal. Practical tips such as hydration, sleep patterns, and food consumption were shared.

DFALF President Christina Rola-McKernan thanked the Resource Person and the HRMO, and highlighted the significance of partnerships in creating more wellness activities for the DFA Community. As part of its membership drive, the DFALF booth welcomed 32 new members who joined the Foundation in its mission to build a more caring DFA.

Female DFA employees and adult female dependents of male DFA employees may join the DFALF, a non-profit organization committed to enriching the lives of the members of the Philippine Foreign Service, their families and the DFA community.
