DFALF Releases Motto: “Compassion in Action”

MANILA 09 May 2025 — To further strengthen its identity, the DFA Ladies Foundation, Inc. (DFALF) officially released its motto, “Compassion in Action” on 28 April 2025 at the Special Projects Unit Office of the Office of the Secretary.
The motto, “Compassion in Action,” submitted by Ms. Rosette T. Austria of the DFA Consular Office in Paniqui, Tarlac, bested twenty-four (24) entries submitted by DFALF members from around the world, during a motto-making contest held from 10 to 21 March 2025
The winning motto captures the essence of DFALF’s mission and goals – promoting the welfare not only of its members but also the broader DFA community through programs and projects inspired by care and compassion. It offers a meaningful glimpse into what DFALF stands for and reflects the heart and spirit of the Foundation.
The judges were DFALF Chairperson Mme. Pamela Louise Manalo, Office of Cultural Diplomacy Assistant Secretary and 2024 DFALF President Celia Anna M. Feria, DFA Chief Coordinator Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, 2025 DFALF President and Office of the Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Acting Deputy Undersecretary Christina Gracia Rola-McKernan, and Office of Public Diplomacy Media and Public Affairs Division Director Joan Macrise C. Corrado.
DFALF Chairperson Mme. Pamela Louise Manalo awarded Ms. Austria a cash prize in the amount of Five Thousand Pesos (PhP5,000.00), in addition to a gift certificate of equal value from TESOROS during the Awarding Ceremony held on the same day. Ms. Austria expressed her gratitude to the judges and to the Foundation for the opportunity to be a part of this milestone and shared how she came up with her motto entry.

- “Kababaihan Para sa Lahat” by Ms. Mary Jennifer D. Dingal, Manado PCG
- “Serving with Heart, Enriching Every Life” by Ms. Jacqueline Ong, Brunei PE
- “Together We Care, Together We Thrive” by Ms. Avela Semaña, Tokyo PE
- “Enriching Community, Inspiring Hope” by Ms. Maria Cecilia P. Wenceslao, Melbourne PCG
Beginning 12 May 2025, the winning motto will be incorporated into DFALF’s official issuances, letterheads, and promotional materials, serving as an additional symbol of DFALF, alongside the Foundation’s thirteen-year old logo. END
