DFA Consular Office in General Santos Inaugurates New Office

GENERAL SANTOS 22 May 2025 — The Department of Foreign Affairs successfully held the inauguration of the newly expanded and improved office space of the Consular Office (CO) General Santos at Robinsons Gen San on 20 May 2025.

The event, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing of the premises, was graced by General Santos City Councilor Richard L. Atendido, Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) Assistant Secretary Ma. Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena, Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) Corporate Affairs Director Jose Luis Aliling, and City Administrator of the LGU of General Santos, Ms. Shandee Theresa Llido-Pestaño.

Also joining were OCA Consular Offices Coordinating Division (COCD) Director Manuel C. Ayap, Head of CO General Santos Yvonne G. Mofar, RLC Special Projects Assistant Manager Mr. Joseph James S. Sabio, and Robinsons Gen San Mall Manager Ms. Leomabell Velandria.

The newly improved facility and the expanded office space ensures a more convenient and efficient access to consular services.

In her keynote remarks, DFA-OCA Assistant Secretary Ma. Antonina M. Mendoza-Oblena emphasized that the physical transformation of CO General Santos reflects the DFA’s commitment to provide efficient, functional and quality consular services, and to cover the widest possible areas by bringing it closer to the people.

Following the inauguration, 291 clients were accommodated for passport applications.

CO General Santos is open to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays. END
