MANILA 30 May 2025 — The DFA-Office of the Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs  (OUCSCA) convened the inaugural "Diplomatic-Academic Community of Practice" (DACOP) on 20 May 2025, at the DFA Temporary Building, Double Dragon Tower,  Pasay City.

This event marked the beginning of efforts to establish DACOP as a sustained platform  for collaboration among experts, educators, researchers, and analysts in the field of  International Relations and Diplomacy.

DACOP is designed to bridge the gap between government and academe, fostering a  dynamic exchange of insights among educators, researchers, and analysts. Its core  mission is to promote informed policy development and continuous knowledge  sharing, directly supporting the strategic goals of Philippine foreign policy. It will initially focus on Civilian Security and other issues within the purview of OUCSCA.

The launch underscores the DFA's commitment to robust partnerships with academic  and research communities, ensuring inclusive, strategic, and forward-looking  diplomacy for the nation. END
