DFA Undersecretary Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro Meets U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to ASEAN Kate Rebholz

MANILA 30 May 2025 – Philippine Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Bilateral Relations and ASEAN Affairs Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro met with U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to ASEAN Kate Rebholz on 29 May 2025 at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Pasay City. 

Discussions focused on the 46th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, including the 2nd ASEAN-GCC Summit and the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 26–27 May 2025, and how these high-level meetings provided renewed impetus to ASEAN’s strategic engagements with Dialogue Partners, including the United States.

Undersecretary Lazaro also briefed the U.S. delegation on the Philippines’ preparations for its Chairship of ASEAN in 2026, and welcomed continued U.S. support in advancing ASEAN centrality and unity. END
