ASEAN GCC Ministerial Meeting SFA

KUALA LUMPUR 02 June 2025 — The Philippines, as Country Coordinator for ASEAN-GCC relations, co-chaired the ASEAN-GCC Ministerial Meeting held on 25 May 2025. The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya. 

In his opening remarks, Secretary Manalo emphasized that ASEAN-GCC cooperation serves as a strategic bridge linking Southeast Asia and the Middle East in the shared pursuit of peace, prosperity, and progress.

Guided by the ASEAN-GCC Framework of Cooperation (2024–2028), Secretary Manalo highlighted key areas for collaboration, including political and security engagement through ASEANAPOL-GCCPOL cooperation, exploring wider trade and economic collaboration, and strengthening educational exchange.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Ministers and senior representatives from ASEAN and GCC Member States.

The Meeting is part of the 46th ASEAN Summit hosted by Malaysia. END
