DFALF and IBF Award 2025 Scholarship Grants

DFALF and IBF Chairperson Madame Pamela Louise Manalo delivers her remarks

MANILA 11 June 2025 — The DFA Ladies Foundation (DFALF) and the International Bazaar Foundation (IBF) held a joint awarding ceremony of scholarship grants to its 2025 scholars at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Double Dragon, Pasay City on Thursday, 05 June 2025.

Twelve (12) scholars from DFALF and twenty-two (22) scholars from IBF received their scholarship grants from Chairperson Madame Pamela Louise Manalo, IBF President Betty Ang, and DFALF First Vice President and Acting Director, Office of Public Diplomacy, Ms. Joan Macrise Corrado. Honorable Chief Coordinator Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez together with the members of the Board of Trustees of DFALF and IBF and the parents of the scholars were also in attendance.

The thirty-four (34) scholars went through a meticulous screening process to ensure that the most deserving students will receive this year’s scholarship grants.  “You are here with us today because of your academic excellence, leadership skills, and passion for learning - qualities that align perfectly with the goals of our scholarship program.  stated DFALF and IBF Chairperson Madame Manalo as she addressed the scholars during her welcome remarks. “You would not be here if we did not believe in your potential,” she added.

Delivering testimonials during the event were former DFALF scholars, Ms. Diane Limbo and Ms. Jacq Bernadine Concepcion of DFA Office of Financial Management Services and DFA Office of Consular Affairs, respectively. On the other hand, Mr. Caster Tyfe Cabrera, a graduating student, shared his experience of being an IBF scholar. Together, they encouraged the new batch of scholars to use this scholarship opportunity as a step towards reaching their dreams.

Guided by a shared vision, the DFALF and the IBF aim to foster a more compassionate, family- oriented, and socially responsible Department of Foreign Affairs, through various projects and initiatives. This includes the annual flagship scholarship program which provides accessible education to individuals, empowering them to break the cycle of poverty, lead fulfilling lives, contribute to their communities, and build a better world for generations to come. This past school year, DFALF had four (4) graduating scholars while IBF had twelve (12) graduating scholars from its respective scholarship program.

Applications for next year’s DFALF and IBF scholarship programs will be made available in March 2026. END
