DFA Welcomes More Filipinos from Iran via DFA-Funded Repatriation Efforts
MANILA 10 July 2025 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) alongside other agencies consisting of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in welcoming two more groups of evacuees repatriated from Iran via Turkmenistan on 04 and 05 July 2025.
A total of thirteen more evacuees in two groups from Iran, comprising eleven Overseas Filipinos (OFs) and two Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), assisted by the DFA's Rapid Response Team (RRT) contingent in Turkmenistan, arrived in the Philippines. Representatives from the DFA - Office of the Undersecretary for Migration Affairs (DFA-OUMA) were present during their arrivals on the evenings of 04 and 05 July 2025 at NAIA Terminal 3.
The recent lowering of the alert level in Israel prompted a decline in the number of our kababayan who seek repatriation assistance to evacuate from Iran to nearby countries.
Nevertheless, the DFA's Foreign Service Posts (FSPs) remain steadfast and ever-ready in assisting our kababayans in distress through any means necessary. END
