11 August 2014 – The Philippine Embassy in Amman, Jordan reported that 21 Filipino evacuees from the Gaza Strip are scheduled to arrive in Manila today at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 10:10 p.m. on board Emirates Airlines flight number 334.
This group consists of dual Filipino/Palestinian citizens, including two Palestinian spouses and one child.
They successfully crossed the King Hussein-Allenby border on August 7, and completed processing and border formalities with the help of the Philippine Embassies in Tel Aviv and Amman. The Embassy in Amman also provided for their food and accommodations throughout their stay in Jordan.
This group brings the total number of Filipinos to leave Gaza to 33.
In view of the deteriorating security situation in the Gaza Strip, the Department of Foreign Affairs urges all remaining Filipino nationals in Gaza to avail themselves of the repatriation offer. The Philippine Embassies in Tel Aviv, Amman, and Cairo remain ready to assist them. END
