23 December 2014 - The ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre) briefed ASEAN Member States (AMS) on how ASEAN, through the AHA Centre, responded to the Typhoon Ruby/Hagupit. The briefing was held on December 09 at the DFA Office of ASEAN Affairs Conference Room.
The AHA Centre commended the Philippine Government for its early warning efforts and implementation of disaster preparedness plans, which have prevented greater losses and damages. The briefing also highlighted the best practices and lessons learned from Typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan, topmost of which is the One-Stop Shop mechanism employed in the system. END
