03 February 2015 – The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Mobility Group/ABTC Working Group Meetings started off its first day of a scheduled four-day collaboration in Subic, Zambales with a well-attended gathering of economy representatives and delegates at the Lighthouse Marina Resort on January 30.
The assembly discussed various issues and matters of interest pertaining to the APEC Business Travel Card with the aim of further improving upon the existing scheme to allow for better facilitation of travel for qualified business people in addition to the continuation of topics from the previous conference in Ningbo, China.
With the ABTC initiative comes the paired challenge of border management and security concerns --- an important task being met head on by the Regional Movement Alert System (RMAS), an APEC security initiative gaining momentum with the participation of Australia, USA, New Zealand and now, the Philippines.
The APEC BMG Meetings will be concluded on February 02 after the plenary session. END
