27 April 2015 - The 3rd Philippines-South Africa Bilateral Consultative Forum (BCF) was held from April 13 to 14 in Pretoria, South Africa.
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs Julius D. Torres led the Philippine delegation, while Deputy Director-General for Asia and the Middle East of South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) Dr. Anil Sooklal, headed the South African delegation.
Philippine Ambassador to South Africa Joseph Gerard B. Angeles and representatives from the Office of Middle East and African Affairs, the Philippine Embassy in Pretoria, and the Maritime Industry Authority were part of the delegation.
The BCF is a mechanism for the Philippines and South Africa to conduct annual meetings to discuss issues of mutual concern, briefings on domestic and regional developments, as well as explore possible fields of cooperation. END
