The Philippine government joins the international community in expressing solidarity with the Egyptian government and its people in the aftermath of the attacks on Heliopolis district, Cairo, Egypt that killed Egypt’s chief prosecutor, Hisham Barakat, and wounded six of his bodyguards, two drivers, and a passerby on Monday, 29 June 2015.

The Philippines extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family of the Egyptian prosecutor and sympathies to the families of the nine (9) wounded Egyptian citizens.

We support the Egyptian government in its efforts to ensure that those responsible for these attacks will be brought to justice. END
