05 January 2016 - ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) Secretary-General Yang Xiuping led a delegation from the ACC and five Chinese tourism experts from the Guilin Tourism University to the Philippines from December 07 to 11, 2015 and held two Chinese outbound travel market workshops in Manila and Cebu.
Having successfully concluded inaugural workshops in 2014 in Indonesia and Brunei, the ASEAN-China Centre endeavored to hold a similar workshop in the Philippines, with the aim of enabling Philippine travel and tourism industries to gain a better understanding of the needs, preferences, and consumer behavior of Chinese tourists while traveling overseas.
While in the Philippines, two workshops were conducted: one in Manila on December 08, and the other in Cebu on December 11. ACC and the Department of Tourism (DOT), in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine Embassy in Beijing, jointly organized and collaborated in this project.
51 local tour operators participated in the workshop in Manila, while the workshop in Cebu was attended by 126 participants.
